Itinerary

Brussels, the heart of Europe is a stunning city featuring stunning architecture and a rich history and multicultural atmosphere. This Brussels free walking tour will take you exploring its most iconic places through cobblestone streets as you listen to interesting stories that shaped this city and its people.

We’ll start our journey at the heart of Brussels: the incredible Grand Place, location of the city’s most important institutions such as the guild houses, the City Hall and the Maison du Roi. You’ll soon learn why this breathtaking square was registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Next we’ll head to one of Brussels’ most iconic landmarks: the Manneken Pis. You’ll discover how this tiny sculpture just 55.5 cm tall (21.9 in) became a symbol of Brussels. Our expert guide in English will share entertaining stories about each location we visit and allow you to see for yourself the most authentic side of the city.

The 2.5 hour tour will continue towards “The Bourse” (Brussels Stock Exchange), the building of La Monnaie De Munt, the federal opera house of Belgium and the stunning Galeries Royales Saint Hubert. Did you know it was the first commercial gallery of its kind in Europe?

Another noteworthy place we’ll pass by is the Cathedral of Saint Michael, one of the greatest examples of Brabantine Gothic architecture. Your guide will also unravel the story about the Palace of Coudenberg - former residence of powerful rulers in Europe from the 12th and 18th centuries - that met its demise when it was consumed by a terrible fire in 1731.

Throughout the tour, we'll explore many other important places in Brussels such as:

  • Comic Strip Murals
  • Anspach boulevard
  • Saint-Géry island
  • Halles Saint-Géry
  • De Brouckère
  • Royal Park & Royal Square
